This book is not about Viagra―it is about making love. Getting older really does mean getting better. By taking the mystery out of the aging process, this book educates, reassures, and reinvigorates."Turning 50 can be one of the most powerful and positive sexual passages in a man's life," writes Barbara Keesling, a sexuality and psychotherapy educator. However, "the focus has to be on lovemaking, not erections--on partnership, not performance." After 50, men's sexual response is affected by the "Big 5": stimulation, circulation, lubrication, stress, and sleep. Keesling teaches women (and men) how to understand how the "Big 5" affect sex, and specifically what to do about each of them. For example, anything that affects blood flow affects erections: temperature, time after eating, position, friction, gravity, and illness, to name just a few.

Keesling presents a series of exercises designed to keep your man "sexually fit, sexually focused, and sexually fabulous for decades." Some are performed during lovemaking; others are completely separate from sex. Some are done by the woman on the man; others by the man on his own. She also offers her 21 "home remedies" for maximizing sexual enjoyment.

Keesling stresses that mental attitudes--yours and his--are as important as the physical exercises. Understanding his aging process will help you accept his changes and adapt your lovemaking so that it's still exciting, loving, and satisfying, even though it may be quite different. Keesling isn't just talking about sex--she's talking about intimacy, acceptance, and love. And those can be powerful aphrodisiacs. --Joan Price

Excellent Book...
...for its intended audience, which is lovers of men over 50. It gives advice and insight on making love to a man over 50 without hurting his feelings, and more or less helping him along without him knowing it. However, if you have a more open and communicative relationship with your lover, I would recommned the book "Sex over 50" which is a great book about loving each other.

Back to basics...
Having reached that half-century milestone and having done quite a bit of reading on how menopause was affecting my body, I wanted to better understand what that transition meant for men. I'd heard of "male menopause," but I had no idea what that really was or how it might impact on my man and our life together. I looked at numerous books and the reviews led me to select this one. It was exactly what I was looking for.

As a sex therapist, Keesling offers the reader a uniquely intimate perspective into the male psyche, drawing on the wealth of her experience with male clients of all ages. And she shares these insights in a straightforward, sometimes humorous, conversational (but never crude) way that made me completely comfortable with the subject and confident in her expertise. Best of all, I learned a lot more about men than I expected to...how their bodies and minds work, the way they think and feel about sex, and the changes men experience as they age. I was surprised to...
All NIght Long, How to Make Love to a Man Over 50
I read the book, my husband read the book, we read the book together. A wonderful tool to bring love, romance, and great sex back into a marriage. After 33 years, we feel like newlyweds again.

This unique subject provides overtake own prospect, this has developed into a fantastic upgrade on me personally, The idea came correctly as well as rapidly How To Talk Dirty: Drive Your Man Crazy And Make Him Beg To Be With You

Why Learn How To Talk Dirty? You might be reading this because your partner has expressed an interest in hearing naughty words in the heat of passion. You might have sought out this book because you are the one who craves those sweet nothings. Maybe you want to liven up your sex life, or maybe you are just curious as to why your partner likes to talk so much in bed. Maybe you are already a fantastic dirty talker who needs a new idea or two, or maybe you're just in the mood to brush up on your naughty skills. Whatever the reason, you've chosen the right book to learn how to talk dirty! Talking dirty has become so much a part of our sexual culture that it has spawned surveys, interviews, forums, books, and research galore. In fact, before it was called "dirty talk," the art of saying sexual things to your lover with the intent to arouse had a scientific name: Lagnolalia. There's good reason for all this scientific interest. Over 80% of our sex life takes place in our heads, meaning that fantasy, memory, and desire are some of the most powerful driving forces behind everything we do behind closed doors. Studies have shown that by the time you actually get physical with your partner, your mind has been leading up to the encounter. So why not go for the dirty talk? It's been in the back of your mind all day anyway! According to Aline P. Zoldbrod, PhD, the author of more than a few books on naughtiness, sexy talk with your partner not only revs up play between the sheets, but enriches your life in ways you never would have imagined. It makes your partner feel good to know how excited you are, and your excitement makes them feel like the best lover in the world. That might explain why talking dirty makes you tingle in all the right places, but it doesn't explain why the naughtiest dirty talk can also be the hottest. It's one thing to say "fuck" and get a smile, but it's quite another to tell your partner exactly how you want to fuck them, in the most graphic terms you can imagine. The dirtier the words, the better. What's up with that? One word: Taboo. This book helps you break the taboo and teaches you how to talk dirty to a guy. INSIDE YOU WILL LEARN: 1. Why we should talk dirty 2. The most important part of talking dirty 3. Finding out that dirty talking doesn't have to be filthy 4. How to get started 5. How to get dirty ideas 6. Setting the stage for being naughty 7. How to put words in your mouth 8. How to use dirty talk creatively everyday 9. Fine tuning your bedroom talk 10. How to have phone sex 11. How to send dirty text messages 12. Playing dirty online with cybersex and email 13. How to talk dirty in public 14. Finding those "WHOA" moments 15. How to do naughty role-playing 16. Girl on girl dirty talk 17. Getting hard-core with talking dirty 18. How to put everything into action Pick up Denise Brienne's "How To Talk Dirty" Kindle book right start learn how to spice up your sex life!

Review :
Excellent Guide - Even For Writers!
I like this book for a number of reasons.

The author immediately addresses the issue of "good dirty talk", which is something I believe you can do, still spice things up (a LOT), and avoid the stigma of negative or demeaning dirty talk.

This book is VERY comprehensive, which I also appreciate when I'm purchasing a book, regardless of the price. I am not a fan of writers that cover one topic briefly in order to get people to buy additional books on the same topic. You don't have to worry about that here.

I think this is a great resource for writers, too. I'm a contemporary romance (probably bordering on erotica) author, and honestly I think she covered this topic so well that it will be a resource for me going forward.

She covers "why", the importance of intimacy (which I love), ideas, how to set the stage, and then yes - specifics. :)

This is an excellent book/resource on this topic!

Fun Stuff!
The Ultimate Guide To Talking Dirty is a fun and informative guide for individuals and couples who want to build their intimacy level and heat things up in the bedroom. I read this with my wife and we took turns reading out loud to each other (try it!) and we found it to be exciting and entertaining. It's mostly gauged towards the female audience, but I highly recommend it to adventurous couples who like to play around and spice things up a bit.

Some of the phrases the author recommends are a bit hardcore and I got a kick out of a few of them. If you're already an experienced dirty talker this is still an entertaining read. Chapters cover many different scenarios, like talking dirty in public, "sexting", cybersex, girl on girl, phone sex, setting the mood, and tons more. Denise Brienne delivers this taboo content in a tasteful way that will encourage dirty talkers of all experience levels. Give it a try!

Not just to the younger crowd!
Being in the upper part of my senior years of life, it is a vital necessary part of keeping ones love/sex live on track. Some times being over 65 you tend to become complacent and stagnant and the mystery and passion can leave you and your sexual activities wanting. This book sparked a new peak in my relationship and it is easy to understand and implement. I encourage others in their senior years to get this book and put it into practice. You'll be surprised how it will improve your relationship.

A holistic health counselor and co-star of award-winning documentary Super Size Me explores women’s cravings—for food, sleep, sex, movement, companionship, inspiration—and teaches them to listen to their bodies for a healthier, fuller life.

Transformational health expert Alexandra Jamieson is a woman on a mission. Having overcome her own food addictions and the weight and health problems these habits caused, she learned something life-altering: when we listen to our cravings, they will lead us onto the path of deep healing. Since her own personal breakthrough more than a decade ago, Alexandra has dedicated her life to helping other women learn to listen to the wisdom of their cravings and make food their greatest ally as they step into their lives with authentic passion.

In this powerfully feminine manifesto, Alexandra dares us to face our cravings head-on, to make the self-commitment to no longer hide out behind food, self-loathing, or the limiting expectations of others. With love, deep compassion, and fearless honesty, she calls upon all of us to boldly use food as a tool to cleanse ourselves of the nutritional, emotional, physical, and mental blocks that limit our ability to live full, meaningful, and joyful lives.

In this book she’ll show us how:
· Our cravings are the gatekeepers of our deepest longings and desires
· Transforming habits set us free
· Detoxing unclutters our bodies and minds so we may engage in our lives with more power and authenticity
· Embracing our sexual selves makes us more powerful
· Trusting ourselves and surrounding ourselves with a nurturing community is essential for a vital, healthy, hot life

Review :
happy, and fulfilled this book is essential
Equal parts memoir, advice, and science "Women, Food, and Desire" delves deep into the complicated, and often conflicting, relationship between food, our bodies, and our purpose in life. While written from a woman's perspective, most of the information applies equally to both genders. This book will help men and women alike untangle our complicated relationship to dinner.

Men will also learn to see the subject of food more clearly from a woman's perspective, and learn how loaded the question "what shall we have for dinner" can be—and how attached it is to her self-worth and sexuality. If you want to help the women in your life to feel healthy, happy, and fulfilled this book is essential.

Finding the joy in eating
Finally - a book that actually gets to the heart of WHY we have such a f*cked up attitude towards food (well, I can only speak for myself - but it seems that it's not enough to know intellectually what things like sugar and gluten are doing to my system - that knowledge is common, but it's not changing my behavior one bit). This book is an exploration of why we have cravings, and invites you to explore deeper into your triggers and habits around food. (Ironically - my mother gave me a copy for Christmas, and it was wrapped up with a chocolate bar. Speaking of food as love!) I am finding a lot of useful insights in the book. It's not a checklist as all - it's part memoir, which I appreciate. I find that allows me to absorb the ideas as I read instead of turning to the "How-To" chapter and ignoring the lead up. It's funny - I've been on the fence about joining the gym again (something I promise myself I'll never do again until I do it) and last night I read these words...
This book has me seeing myself and habits with new ...
This book has me seeing myself and habits with new eyes and I sense a real transformation on the horizon that has moved me to tears. Alexandra does what few people can: she actually shows you how to get to the root of your self-care challenges and transform them. Not through some weird, complicated diet, but through simple, wise and practical steps that speak to your soul's deepest yearning. For real! Get this book. It's about so much more than food. It's for your entire life.

From the authors of It's No Accident, the definitive book on childhood toileting troubles, comes a supportive, engaging, highly informative, and cleverly illustrated book for children from preschool through elementary age. Little ones will love Dr. Pooper and the wily rabbit. Older kids will appreciate the respectful tone and amusing illustrations. A must-read for preschool and elementary teachers and family therapists, too! Readers will learn what really causes most accidents: a clogged colon, which presses on and irritates the bladder. The book urges families not wait around for children to outgrow accidents or bedwetting and explains how to make the troubles stop for good. A Q&A with Dr. Hodges at the end explains the research behind his approach. This book is an ideal companion to It's No Accident, which explains in detail the therapies described in Bedwetting and Accidents Aren't Your Fault.

Review :
Great "Cliff's Notes" and our three year old likes it
I guess I'll be the first person to review this book. It's so new that it still smelled like printing ink when we got it!
If you're not familiar with the It's No Accident book, then this children's companion book it's going to sound really weird to you. It would still be helpful to children and adults unfamiliar with main book, but it's not a typical children's potty training book. So know that before you buy.
We are working with our pediatrician and following the It's No Accident book protocol, so this children's book has been very helpful to our three and a half year old. He likes this book and wants to read it every day, often while he's on the toilet :)
As the person reading the book, it can be a little confusing to know when to read which parts because there is the main text, LOTS of character thought bubbles, signs, etc. It takes a few reads to find your stride. But it's more of a free form read, and for young children who like books to be predictable this can be...
Accurate and Educational
As a physical therapist that treats children with bowel and bladder incontinence, as well as constipation and other conditions I have found this book to be very helpful and valuable. There are no other books that I have found yet that provide the content that this book offers, as well as being appropriate for a wider range of ages. The information that is presented is not only accurate and evidenced based, but it is explained in a way that kids can relate to and understand. It is also nice that the information is presented at a level that both younger kids can learn form but older kids are not bored with or turned off from. So far my favorite page that I keep referring back to with the kids is the one with the stretched out T-shirt picture resembling the rectum. It is helping kids and parents understand the implications of getting stretched out and why things can take time to improve. Some of the pages in this book have a large amount of information so I actually find it...
A great help to my 6 y.o. daughter
I'm grateful to have found this after so much frustration, anxiety, and misery dealing with my 6-year-old daughter's bedwetting. I first learned about the book on Dr. Laura Markham's FB page (she is my parenting guru). Then I heard her interview with Dr. Hodges, which was eye-opening. I finally put the pieces of the puzzle together and realized my daughter's issue was probably due to constipation. I immediately ordered the book and had it in hand when an x-ray at the pediatrician confirmed it. I feel lucky our doctor was on board with the x-ray and took me seriously. We did a laxative clean-out and it was so great for my daughter to have this book during the process. It took away so much of her fear and embarrassment, and it made her feel like, well, as the title says, it wasn't her fault! She also got a real kick out of Dr. Pooper -- what kid wouldn't love that name? -- and the bunny rabbit. She has had her first dry nights ever and wants to go on her first sleepover. BTW, the poop...

Hawaiian Puff-Wheels

My daughter loves finding these in her lunchbox. She says they are fancy and delicious. The variations are endless, so this one recipe can yield many happy lunchboxes for years to come.

Yield

4 or 5 servings.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pastry sheets. Spread the ham and pineapple evenly over both sheets. Sprinkle with the cheese. Carefully roll the dough, starting with the long side so that you end up with a long log. Cut the filled dough into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick pieces, and place on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the dough rises and is golden. Remove from the oven, and allow the wheels to cool for 5 minutes prior to packing in a lunchbox. If you make these the night before, pack them chilled in the lunchbox. They will be room temperature by lunch.

Ingredients
  • 1 package (17 ounces, or 490 g) puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 3/4 cup (112 g) sliced deli ham, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (80 g) crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 1 1/4 cups (145 g) shredded Cheddar cheese

Real Food, Real Fun, Real Easy
Laura Fuentes takes the hum drum out of school lunches with this book. There are no strange ingredients that you can't find at the grocery store. You don't have to have all those expensive kitchen tools and feel guilty if you don't cut your sandwiches into cute stars or anything. Using these recipes, lunch can be fun AND easy!

Everything is laid out in a clear, concise manner. There is a little intro telling you where the idea for each recipe originated, giving them a personal touch that I find appealing. At the end of the book, I was surprised to find a chart with the recipe names and a place for kids to rate each one. Pure. Genius. Now I can easily see which ones were favorites and we can mark whether we want to make it again or not. Getting the kids involved in planning lunches is SO KEY.

I am a homeschooling mom of 3, and I would get to a point in the day where I would stare at the refrigerator and say "what am I going to give these kids for...

Get Out the Door: Breakfast to Go – 11 Awesome Portable Morning Meals from Perfect Pancakes to Breakfast Burritos...
Looks awesome.. but I'm clueless on some things!
Got this book yesterday... and loving all the recipes I see! So excited to try them!

My only comment is that I would like to have seen a comment(1-3 sentences) per each recipe regarding instructions how to freeze/defost/pack (especially the sandwiches).

How do the avocados not turn brown and mushy after all morning in the lunchbox? How do the apple slices not turn brown? I'm really clueless about that stuff:)

Everything else look beautiful and wonderful! Looking forward to the next book!

This type of subject delivers exceeded out anticipation, that one has turned into a great replace on myself personally, The theory came securely along with speedily The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference

The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas."The best way to understand the dramatic transformation of unknown books into bestsellers, or the rise of teenage smoking, or the phenomena of word of mouth or any number of the other mysterious changes that mark everyday life," writes Malcolm Gladwell, "is to think of them as epidemics. Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread just like viruses do." Although anyone familiar with the theory of memetics will recognize this concept, Gladwell's The Tipping Point has quite a few interesting twists on the subject.

For example, Paul Revere was able to galvanize the forces of resistance so effectively in part because he was what Gladwell calls a "Connector": he knew just about everybody, particularly the revolutionary leaders in each of the towns that he rode through. But Revere "wasn't just the man with the biggest Rolodex in colonial Boston," he was also a "Maven" who gathered extensive information about the British. He knew what was going on and he knew exactly whom to tell. The phenomenon continues to this day--think of how often you've received information in an e-mail message that had been forwarded at least half a dozen times before reaching you.

Gladwell develops these and other concepts (such as the "stickiness" of ideas or the effect of population size on information dispersal) through simple, clear explanations and entertainingly illustrative anecdotes, such as comparing the pedagogical methods of Sesame Street and Blue's Clues, or explaining why it would be even easier to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with the actor Rod Steiger. Although some readers may find the transitional passages between chapters hold their hands a little too tightly, and Gladwell's closing invocation of the possibilities of social engineering sketchy, even chilling, The Tipping Point is one of the most effective books on science for a general audience in ages. It seems inevitable that "tipping point," like "future shock" or "chaos theory," will soon become one of those ideas that everybody knows--or at least knows by name. --Ron Hogan

Brings 'Sticky' Ideas to a Nexus
I read this book in part of one day - it's a good, quick read. Unlike some of the people who didn't care for the book - I never read the New Yorker article. It may be that the book doesn't add enough new info to excite folks who have read that article. But to me the book threw out a good number of new ideas and concepts very quickly and very clearly. I found his ability to draw a nexus between things that, on the surface seem very divergent, was very interesting, and he did it smoothly, without jumping around a lot.
The thrust of the book is that there are three things that can converge to bring about dramatic and perhaps unexpectedly fast changes in our society. These are the context (the situational environment - especially when it's near the balance or 'tipping point'), the idea, and the people involved. His point is that very small changes in any or several of the context, the quality of the idea (which he calls 'stickiness', ie how well the idea sticks), or...
Interesting Read
Malcolm Gladwell, a staff writer for New Yorker Magazine, in The Tipping Point, writes a fascinating study of human behavior patterns, and shows us where the smallest things can trigger an epidemic of change. Though loaded with statistics, the numbers are presented in a way that makes the book read like an exciting novel. Gladwell also gives several examples in history, where one small change in behavior created a bigger change on a national level. He also studies the type of person or group that it takes to make that change.
Gladwell's first example is the resurgence of the popularity of Hush Puppies, which had long been out of fashion, and were only sold in small shoe stores. Suddenly, a group of teenage boys in East Village, New York, found the cool to wear. Word-of-mouth advertising that these trend-setters were wearing the once-popular suede shoes set off an epidemic of fashion change, and boys all over America had to have the "cool" shoes...
Junk Science...buyer beware!
I know negative reviews tend to get dismissed or lost in the shuffle, especially for wildly popular books such as Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point; however, I think it's important to chime in on how this book fails to deliver on its basic premise. In essence, the Tipping Point describes how certain types of people (who Gladwell refers to as connectors, mavens, and salesmen), and certain circumstances (the law of the few, the stickiness factor, and the power of context), can help turn fashion, books, television shows into epidemics, and turn crime waves and smoking trends upside-down. And here is where Gladwell's Tipping Point fails: he uses the data of real-life examples to reason backwards in the formation of his theory. When read closely and critically, Gladwell only describes THAT things `tip' and not WHY they `tip'. As Karl Popper said of Freudian Theory (and of all science), it must be falsifiable. Here it seems unlikely that any observation or experimental paradigm could be...
